Muriel’s music career began in the late 1990’s, during which time she played in several bands, and had the opportunity to work with many talented artists and musicians. In 1999, she released her first solo album “Muriel Shickman”. Through songs like “Around the River Bend”, “Flow”, and “Watch What You Think”, her lyrics have reached out and touched the lives of countless individuals. This was quickly followed by her albums, “One Voice” 2000; “Return to Zero”2001, “Mixed Emotions”2003, & “Dream Time”2004. In 2005, she released a compilation comprised of selections from these albums, which contained over an hour of music. Also, she has just completed her latest album "The Farther Shore" 2010, which is now available to download (see shop for details).

Throughout the years, Muriel has gained dedicated followers whose lives she has touched numerously. One of her listeners wrote this for her after listening to “Around the Riverbend”, {“There's a voice that's like the river, riding pebbles into sound. It smoothens out the edges, and bleeds invisible into itself. There's a voice that flows from mountain crest where eagle wings brush morning sky; that finds its soul in rain shuddering sweetly to valley floor. There's a voice that channels through rock, winding wide, then narrow to the salt of sea; a voice that makes my own stone heart lighter, crying it's tears of river for me, so I can laugh, again.”} Muriel’s music is inspirational and thought provoking. She tirelessly dedicates her time to social and environmental causes, and continues to inspire positive change in the world.
